Extension FAQ
ANSWERS TO YOUR MOST COMMON QUESTIONS
-
I offer sewn in wefts and k-tips.
-
It depends on the extension, your own personal maintenance at home, and in-salon maintenance. Wefts can be reused and can last anywhere from 8 months to 1 year. K-tips need to be redone every visit and last around 3-4 months. Again, all of this is extremely dependent on your at home maintenance and how regularly you come to see me for maintenance.
-
No. If installed properly and regularly maintained (at home and in-salon maintenance), extensions can be considered a protected hair style.
-
On average, wefts need to be bumped up every 4-6 weeks depending on hair growth and at home maintenance. This only applies to wefts. K-tips cannot be bumped up and have to be fully reinstalled with new hair every time.
-
Yes, I am happy to offer a custom color service for your extensions. Please do not do it at home.
-
Yes, Depending on placement and density, you might have to adjust how you wear your hair up (for example, a lower pony tail than you might normally do).

Extension Care Guide
KEEP YOUR HAIR LOOKING ITS BEST
-
Wash mindfully
Use sulfate-free, extension-safe shampoo and conditioner. Wash 2–3 times per week and focus on the scalp. Be gentle and avoid rough scrubbing.
-
Condition & hydrate
Keep mid-lengths and ends moisturized with a lightweight, extension-safe conditioner or mask. Avoid applying heavy products near the bonds or wefts.
-
Detangle daily
Use a soft-bristle or loop brush and start from the ends, working your way up. Hold the hair at the roots to avoid unnecessary tension.
-
Be kind with heat
Always use a heat protectant and keep tools at a moderate temperature (300–350°F). Avoid excessive heat near the bonds or wefts.
-
Sleep smart
Wear your hair in a loose braid or low ponytail, and consider a silk or satin pillowcase to reduce friction and prevent tangling.
-
Avoid harsh products
Stay away from sulfates, excessive alcohol, oils near bonds, and products not recommended for extensions.
-
Keep up with maintenance
Regular move-ups and maintenance appointments keep your extensions looking and feeling their best.
-
